The City of Las Palmas

The City of Las Palmas is called the city with the best climate in the world by the University of Syracuse. The study analysed 600 popular tourist destination cities worldwide. The average annual temperature of the city is 22C, sounds good right?

The city has many interesting places to see, take our hostel bikes and travel around the city visiting all the special corners of it.

Our hostel is located on the beachfront in the district of Guanarteme. It is especially known for the beach of Las Canteras where you can feel the real surfers life. La Isleta located in the north of Las Palmas is a popular neighbourhood that has incredible places that retained their essence, it is definitely a trip through time full of colors and music. Nearby is Santa Catalina, a big open square, buzzing with life and where all the local gua-guas (buses) pass.

Beauty of the city old quarter Vegueta hides some interesting stories of Christopher Columbus who stopped here, before leaving to discover new lands. By day you can visit many museums, the Cathedral de Canarias, La Casa Colon, the Museo Canario...

But every Thursday the place changes from being historical heritage to a lively party street. TAPAS NIGHT -1,5 euros for a snack and 2 euros for a drink, live music, loads of people and super chilled atmosphere. From the quiet during a day streets, to busy and crazy nights in the old town.

Every Saturday you can spend with live music concerts that take place on the Las Canteras beach. They start at 17.30h and end at 00.00h. After that your destination is Plaza de la musica, only 5 minutes walk from Auditorium. Just choose the type of music you like from different clubs and dance the night away!
